The Body Shop's facial buffer ain't any ordinary buffer.

This is one of the coolest products from TBS that I have ever tried so far. This buffer converts your regular cleansing routine into a mild exfoliating routine to reveal clean, soft and supple skin. Combined with any cleanser, this works to get rid of dry skin and dead cells. Brilliant!

What does TBS claim?

A gentle exfoliating sponge to polish your skin, while cleansing, leaving it feel refreshed and looking radiant. Use daily for a gentle skin boost. Particularly good for use on dry skin that needs to be exfoliated regularly.

What I think about this?

Well, these type of exfoliating sponges never appealed to me so much, simply because I thought they were totally abrasive and were going to strip my skin of all moisture.
I don't know about the other ones out there, but this one just rocks. It's simply amazing and works so well with any cleanser to clean pore-deep drawing out all the gunk. My skin feels totally clean, soft and polished after cleansing with this.

It looks a bit abrasive and you will end up scratching your skin if you do not use this with a light hand. I use this with my cleanser and gently massage with circular motion and wash off. There is a cute handle to insert a couple of fingers so that you don't lose grip!

Make sure to wash it very well and hang it dry to keep it bacteria-free.

Pros

  • Cleanses and softens skin really well getting rid of dead skin.
  • Does not leave skin tight and stretchy.
  • Affordable. It's $6, but goes on sale quite often.

Cons
  • Overusing this could do more harm than good to your skin, scratching it and stripping away the natural oils.
  • Has to be properly washed and dried after every use.
I love this facial buffer to bits. It works well with any kind of cleanser and combines gentle cleansing and exfoliation in one step. Gets rid of dry, flaky skin in one go. I have dry bits on my cheeks and around my nose and this simply gets rid of it.

I totally recommend this to everyone who loves to exfoliate (well, who doesn't??) and wants to add a little something to their cleansing routine.

Have you tried TBS facial buffer? Is there something else that works as good as this? Share your thoughts.

Oldie but goodie - Something I love from Orly

Alabaster verve, is one of Orly's permanent nail colors and also something that I am oh so loving currently. The color is a beautiful mix of pink and plum. This shade is something everyone can own in their nail polish collection. It's beautifully classy yet chic.

I love the quality of Orly nail paints. They are streak free and contain no DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde. The gripper cap makes application a joy. I am sure, there is a dupe somewhere for this one, but I wouldn't wanna trade anything for this quality.

The shade may look regular, but I feel it's a different twist from the usual plum and purples for fall. It's that kind of color that you can sport for any occasion, something that can be carried off very easily whatever be your skin tone. It's a safe shade for the work environment too.

Have you tried Alabaster Verve? What are your current favorite nail colors? Share your thoughts.

You gotta try Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Body Butter

Hiya! Hope the weekend was fun and everyone is all geared up for the week ahead. I know, there's nothing as ugly as those Monday morning blues. But, I also know of something that can cheer you up. Something that smells like you just crossed a Jamba Juice store and feels like satin on your skin.Say hello to Pacifica's Tuscan Blood Orange Body Butter, something that smells like freshly squeezed oranges, totally perfect for those lousy mornings or anytime you are feeling blah!

This rich body butter is ultra smooth in texture, sinks immediately with no tacky residue and smells divine! The scent is so sophisticated and uplifting.

What's more? It's free of all the evil sulfates, mineral oils, parabens, phthalates, propylene glycol, and artificial colors and 100% vegan with no animal testing. Oh, and I luurve the pretty packaging.

The $18 price tag might be a bit too steep for an everyday body butter, but trust me it's worth every penny. There's quite a lot of product in there and it's going to last a while.

Although, I love the smell, I wish it would linger on for some more time. I use it after a bath and it stays on for a couple of hours before it starts to fade slowly. This one doubles up as a great hand cream too!

Available at Sephora,Pacifica has a lot of fresh scents to choose from. Have you tried anything interesting? Blood Orange, anyone?

Get Nude with these NYX lipglosses

Now everyone knows that NYX Mega Shine lipglosses are the ultimate bang for the buck. There are three of my favorite nude shades from those glosses that I reach out to all the time.

They are all warm shades, can be paired safely with any kind of eye makeup and would match with any skin tone. I know that NYX has a lot of nude shades to choose from, but these are the three that I love the most.

The consistency of these glosses are neither too thick, nor too runny. Being slightly less stickier than MAC lipglasses, they tend to last a good 2-3 hours on me with eating/drinking in between.

Sponge Cake - It' a gorgeous shade of pinkish brown with golden glitter. It looks fabulous with every look without looking OTT. And no worries about the glitter looking chunky.

Natural -This really is natural looking. Its almost similar looking to Sponge Cake but a bit lighter sans the glitter.

Tanned - The shade name says it all. Its a tan brown, that's plain with no glitter. Can be worn alone or can be layered with any lipstick for a subtle neutral look.

Swatches without flash and with flash. First pic is w/o flash taken in daylight.

Top to bottom : Sponge Cake, Tanned, Natural.

If you want to tone down any look or want to keep it low-key for work, then you might want to give these a shot. They are pocket-friendly and well worth a try!

The only gripe with NYX glosses in general are that, they tend to leak when not stored properly. Apart from that, I like them a lot.

Have you tried any of these shades from NYX? Do you like them or hate them? Is there another neutral that works for ya? Share your thoughts.

Have you tried Natrulift - The Body Shop's Natural alternative to retinol?

The Body Shop introduces Natrulift with Pomegranate extract which, they claim is a natural and better alternative to Retinol.

The five step skin regimen consists of Natrulift Softening Face Wash/Cream Cleanser

Natrulift Softening Toner

Natrulift Firming Day and Night Cream

Apart from the pretty packaging, these products claim to firm skin from the first use.Not quite sure of that, but the serum might me worth a pick up.The products are said to have a temporary lifting effect that plumps and hydrates skin.

They also have free shipping with any purchase from this range.

Burt's Bees Rejuvenating Lip Balm with Acai Berry

Bored with the classic Burt's Bees lip balm? Try this one. It's new, flavored like fruit spread and moisturizes like no other balm. For something that's $3, this is a total gem.

Image: www.burtsbees.com
Burt's Bees says :

Leave lips feeling renewed, moisturized and healthy with this 100% natural lip balm. Superfruit, açaí berry, provides free radical fighting antioxidants and vitamins A, C, D and E, as well as healthy Omega oils, giving your lips a rejuvenating experience with a rich, sweet flavor. We call that one super balm!

The balm has the classic Burt's Bees packaging and has a beautiful fruity smell. The cap is purple n cute which I am assuming is because Acai Berries are purple in color :) It's white in the tube, goes on transparent and leaves no film on the lips.It does not have any tingle like the original Burt's Bees. It feels so light on the lips - almost close to nothing. It's going to be a super base for even the most drying lipsticks. I find Revlon Matte lipsticks to be really drying on my lips and this little baby made them go on so smoothly.

What I like about this Balm?

Fruity smell

Lovely texture

Tote friendly

What I dislike about this balm?

I'd have to re-apply this more often than other balms. That's probably because it's so yummy that I lick it off my lips. Hey, not the balm's fault!

I love applying it in the night and waking up to pillow soft lips. Some may find the smell a bit too fruity for night use.

I would definitely be buying this again for sure.In fact, I prefer this one over the original Burt's Bees Lip Balm. Have you tried Burt's Bees lip balm with Acai Berry? Do you love it?What are your favorite lip balms?
