LUSH Ocean Salt Cleanser

Ocean Salt is a detoxifying, exfoliating cleanser from LUSH that is made from a blend of sea salt, lime, avocado and vodka. In Lush's very own words - "The antibacterial effects of lime and the trace of alcohol in the product is ideal for blocked pores, blackheads or blemishes. The minerals in sea salt soften as the
salt scrubs away dirt and blockages."
Ocean salt is supposed to be a face and body exfoliator. I find it a bit expensive to be used on the body though. Although this is a very strong cleanser with traces of alcohol, I still find that it does not totally strip my dry skin of moisture. But, I still follow up with a moisturizer, just in case.  I'm sure people with oily skin would love it as much. If you have breakout prone or very sensitive skin, you might want to use it with caution since the scrub does tingle quite a bit.
Whatever be your skin type, I wouldn't recommend using this more than twice a week. It polishes, cleanses very well and leaves my skin looking absolutely fresh. I usually follow up with any face mask or when I'm lazy, just moisturize. I'm not too sure if it has helped with my blackheads but, it does an excellent job of buffing away dead skin cells and softening skin to a nice extent! Make sure to wet your face really well before you start scrubbing as the coarse texture might be a little too much for facial skin.
Overall, I love this fresh smelling, amazing scrub especially in summer. It really detoxifies and adds a nice glow to an otherwise dull face. Unlike the fresh face masks, Ocean Salt has a shelf like of about a year.
Have you tried Lush Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub? Do you like it? What are your favourite exfoliators?

  1. I LOVE this stuff! It's my all time favorite product by LUSH (I like their Celestial moisturizer, Mask of Magnaminty, and Tea Tree Toner too). Unfortunately it's too expensive for me. :( I just use my St Ives Apricot Scrub.

  2. I loved the smell and hated the scrub :| It was just too harsh for my skin. Mixed it with AOBS, and it's my favorite scrub-mix now :D

  5. @JC- I know, LUSH is quite expensive considering the short shelf life :( BTW, I love Celestial too. That's the only moisturizer I use these days!

  7. @Becky - If you've never tried, you can start with their massage bars and fresh face masks. If you love long baths, even the bath bombs are great :D

  8. @Ik - I've not tried it so much for blemishes so, not very sure...but it might probably lighten since it contains lime :) Let me know if you try it :D

  13. That's such an intriguing combination of ingredients. I don't go into a LUSH store often but the next time I do, I must check this one out (even if it's only to poke and to sniff, maybe purchase). :D
