Benefit Sugarbomb - FOTD, Review & Swatches

Benefit Sugarbomb was one of those blushes that I've been wanting to pick up for a very long time. I always thought it would look so sheer on me that I'd rather not waste $28 on it. I finally picked it up and I am so glad I did coz it's become one of those staples that needs very less effort to apply and gives a gorgeous glow. I can see it working best on medium skin tones. If the color seems a bit too sheer, layer it on over any blush for a peachy-pink sheen!

There's very less fall out and also a sweet smell that isn't bothersome at all. Lasts for a good 3-4 hours on me! And not to mention the super attractive packaging which is solely partly the reason I got it :-)

Heres a pic of me wearing Sugarbomb with just some TM, eyeliner and mascara. That took a couple of sweeps to get the color to show which is still pretty sheer but, I kinda like the way it shows up.

Have you tried Benefit's Sugarbomb? Do you love it as much as I do? I'd love to know!

Maybelline Volum' Express One by One Washable Mascara in Blackest Black

One of the best products from the drugstores has got to be mascaras. I also feel its sensible to get mascaras from the drugstores since, they go easy on the wallet and make us all feel less guilty considering we have to replace them every once in three months.

Volume is one of my top priorities when it comes to mascaras. Most volumizing mascaras have a clumping problem and the One by One mascara claims to have that sorted out.

The packaging is very Maybelline but, the color makes it seem like a Covergirl Lash Blast rip off.The brush looks very promising in terms of separating lashes.

I've gotta say that this is one of my least favorite mascaras by Maybelline. It does separate lashes to an extent but, does nothing great to add volume. Nothing much at all. Even after a good 3 coats! Clumping is petty less for a couple of coats but, on the third coat, it clumps a bit. Lengthens to an average extent. Does not curl lashes at all and a lot of effort is needed to get decent volume. Definitely not a good pick unless, you don't mind spending a hella lot of time applying mascara everyday. There are far decent mascaras that do the job way quicker and much effectively. The only good thing is that it washes off easily. This is how it looks after three coats. Not very impressive!

I love Maybelline mascaras but, this one was pretty much a let down for me. Needs a lot of work in the volume department. And oh, before I forget, this has a floral smell similar to the Colossal Volum' Express and the smell lingers on for a while. Its not all that bad so, I don't mind that.

Have you tried Maybelline Volum' Express One by One Mascara?Do you like it? What is your current favorite mascara?

NOTD - ZOYA Marilyn

So, this is how ZOYA Marilyn ($7) looks on the second day of application. This particular shade is a pastel shade of pink with very little silver shimmer which is hardly visible. What I have on is three coats! One coat seems too streaky, two coats kinda sheer so, I needed three for a bit of opacity. The shade is really pretty and is a great addition to any pink lover's stash : -)  Drying time is pretty fast too. Here's a pic. Sorry about my ugly cuticles, its winter :(

No chipping as of now but its just day 2 so, I'll report back on that. The brush is really convenient for me to use. I like brushes that are small and thin. They seem to give me better grip during application. All ZOYA nail polishes are Formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP and Camphor free.

What do you think of Marilyn? Do you like it? Share your thoughts!

Guess what came in the mail today?

I finally got my ZOYA nail polishes that I ordered during their Facebook offer a couple of weeks back. So, here's what I chose. The three free nail colors are Marilyn, Harley and Meadow. I also ordered a bottle of their Remove + nail polish remover($9.99). I used it to remove my old nail polish and it did not stink. In fact, smells more herbal-ish. I am so glad! Detailed review coming soon!!!

Everything was packed beautifully. There were nail color plates of some previous collections and also the Spring 2011 collection. I had some problems while ordering and the customer service was really polite and helpful. That really impressed me.

L-R : Harley, Marilyn, Meadow
Will do NOTDs with these soon! If you took advantage of this offer, I'd love to know what colors you picked :-)

Would you still buy the Urban Decay Naked Palette?

I just got this mail from UD, notifying that they would be replacing the 24/7 liner pencil duo with a Good Karma Shadow Brush in their Naked Palette. And, and the price has also been increased to $48! That being done, I still think its a great palette and packs some gorgeous colors, right?. But, I would have been happier if they changed the Primer Potion from 'Original' to 'Sin'.

Will you still be getting your hands on this palette in case you haven't?

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20

I know that there are a ton of reviews for this amazing little product. I just wanted to quickly add my two cents. Quite frankly, I don't know what took me so long to try this out. I got mine in the shade "Sand". This looks perfect on me now although, I might need to go a shade darker if I tan a little more in summers.

I totally love this TM. I've tried a ton of tinted moisturizers before and finding my shade was quite a task. From the drugstores, I liked the Physicians Formula Healthy Wear SPF 50 formula wise, but the shade selection was just too poor. The darkest shade made me look muddy and the shade before that was too light for me.

What I love about Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer :

  • Great coverage for a tinted moisturizer. In fact, to me its just *slightly* sheer than a foundation, feels much lighter and blends perfectly.
  • The shade selection is just brilliant. I am sure everyone can find their perfect shade.
  • Comes with sun protection. Although, SPF 20 does seem small, anything more than that might give a whitish cast.
  • There is also an oil-free version in case you are prone to breakouts.
  • Hygienic tube packaging - easy to travel with.

The not so good things about Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer:

  • The price tag! Ouch! $42 hurts every time we run out. Sephora sometimes has travel-size ones($20) in-stores which is great if you are trying this out for the first time. I was lucky enough to get one.
  • Since this provides quite a bit of coverage, any shade slightly darker/lighter than your skin tone can make a huge difference.
  • Although this is a tinted moisturizer, too much can still look ghastly so, its better to use it with a light hand.

I totally love this and its close to being HG. If you want a fresh, dewy look for everyday wear, this is a perfect choice.

Have you tried Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizers? Do you like them as much? Are there any affordable alternatives that you recommend?
