Tarte Clean Slate Deluxe Primer Trio

The Tarte Clean Slate Deluxe Primer Trio ($9, Ulta, Sephora) is a value set that comes with three of Tarte's best primers for eyes and face. The set contains a Clean Slate 360 Degree Creaseless 12-hr Smoothing Eye Primer, Clean Slate Poreless 12-hr Perfecting Primer and a Clean Slate Flawless 12-hr Brightening Primer. I absolutely adore the packaging of these primers. For under $10, this set is a great value and perfect when you want to try these out before splurging on a full-size of any of these products.

Tarte Clean Slate Poreless 12-hr Perfecting Primer ($30 for full size) - This face primer is a skin perfecting, matte base that keeps skin poreless and creates a smooth canvas for makeup. The primer is a clear gel and has a silicone-y feel to it, like most face primers. It leaves a slick finish and does a great job in filling up pores and fine lines. The end result is a smooth base that helps foundation or tinted moisturizer go on smooth. It also holds makeup for a good 8 hours without becoming very greasy overtime. I also like how it did not leave me itchy like a lot of other gel like, silicone primers I've tried.

Tarte Clean Slate Flawless 12-hr Brightening Primer ($30 for full size) - The brightening primer has a gel-creme consistency and a very slight pink tint, that illuminates skin. It is silicone-free and comes with a lot of moisturzing ingredients that leave a dewy finish. It is great for dry skin and adds a very subtle glow. I think it maybe a little too much for oily skin especially if dewy is not your thing. Used alone, I don't see much of a difference but, after using a foundation on top, the overall finish is a soft, healthy glow that I love. The slight, pink tint fades into an invisible finish once blended well.

Tarte Clean Slate 360 Degree Creaseless 12-hr Smoothing Eye Primer ($19 for full size) - The eye primer has a very thin consistency that dries to an invisible, smooth, slightly oily finish. It takes a while to absorb completely and the formula is a lot more forgiving than most other eye primers. That being said, it is fantastic when it comes to holding eye shadows in place without any creasing or fading. It also makes the colors of shadows to pop, in a very subtle way. Since it is a thinner formula, it tends to separate overtime so, be sure to shake the tube well before each use. If you tend to have oily lids, you may prefer a thicker, drier formula like the MAC paint pots. But, if you have dry lids and prefer smoother, light-weight eye primers, this one is a good choice.

Overall, the set as such is a great value and a fantastic buy. The tubes are tiny though and perfect for travel!

Have you tried any of the Tarte Clean Slate Primers?
