Maybelline Color Whisper Lipstick in Mad For Magenta

I decided to pick up another one of the Maybelline Color Whisper Lipsticks ($7.49). This time around I picked up "Mad For Magenta" - a wearable Fuchsia with teeny tiny shimmer, perfect for when you want a subtle pop of color while keeping everything else low key.

The shimmer is not too gritty and doesn't even show up so much on the lips, which is something I quite like. I remember trying out a couple of shimmery shades from the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters and how different and drying they felt compared to the cream finishes. With the Maybelline Color Whispers, the texture remains consistently smooth. This one was just as moisturizing as the other lipstick I tried (Made-It Mauve) and wore comfortably. The color goes on like a sheer wash of pink and gets brighter as you build it up. These Color Whisper Lipsticks might just be my new favourite drugstore lipstick. I absolutely love everything about them right from the chic packaging to the hydrating formula and the amazing color range.

Overall, if you haven't tried anything from this range, I highly recommend you do! There's not much staying power here - I get about 2-3 hours max. But if you like light-weight, balmy lipsticks, you won't be left dissapointed. As for Mad For Magenta, it is a lovely spring/summer shade and definitely one of the more wearable versions of Fuchsia that anyone can carry off easily!

Have you tried any of the Maybelline Color Whisper Lipsticks?

  2. This is a great colour. I just recently bought one but haven't tried it yet. The concept seems to be the Maybelline version of Revlon's lip butters. Do you think they're similar?

    1. The concept is quite similar but I prefer Maybelline's version! They are far more moisturizing than the Revlon Lip Butters! I have extremely dry lips and these feel super comfortable. Let me know what you think once you've tried yours :)

  4. Nice blog but I wish you would color correct your pictures (they always look so yellow) and use better lighting.
