Nails Inc. Nailkale in Holland Walk and Alexa Leather

Nailkale ($14 Nailkale; $15 Fabric Effects; sephora.com), is a new nail polish range from Nails Inc. that features kale extract to help strengthen and nourish nails. The Nailkale range also features nail treatments, top and base coats to go with the current range of polishes. Also new to Nails Inc. in collaboration with Alexa Chung are textured polishes that come in a variety of finishes with a different fabric effect each. What I have here is Alexa Leather, a slightly textured black with a matte, leather-y finish.

The packaging of these are really nice. They have removable outer caps, which by the way feel really heavy - almost the weight of the polish without them on! The brush is a fabulous little wide, curved brush that hugs the nail perfectly and helps with easy application around the cuticle area. Nailkale in Holland Walk is a gorgeous, plum creme. Its a rich color, very glossy and smooth. I needed two coats for complete opacity, but you can very well get away with just one. Alexa Leather on the other hand is more of a matte, leathery texture that looks good with one coat than two. The polish itself is really nice, but I'm not a big fan of textured polishes anymore, I prefer a smooth, shiny manicure any day, so of the two, Holland Walk is my favorite. Its also the perfect color for fall and definitely a formula that is worth checking out. I had average wear time with Holland Walk, about 2 days after which it started to chip. Overall, the cremes in the Nailkale range are pretty nice and the colors are classic nudes, pinks and plums, so very wearable. Some colors, Holland Walk included are limited edition.
